I think Corn Guy is kind of corny but the video does make me laugh and I think it will for you too. The next exciting episode of Corn Guy TV is now available. Corn Guy goes mano-a-mano with Taco Lady and you’ll have to watch to see who wins. Be advised that Corn Guy has to “make some ethanol” …
E85 Making Inroads in Racing
Thanks to Nathan Schock at Rhapsody in Green for pointing us to a story on his local tv station showcasing how E85 is making inroads in the local racing scene. I guess you can say, “Ethanol, it’s not just for the IRL any more.” You can watch the video here or find it on the KELO website.
KL Process Design Group First Cellulosic Plant
While we’ve been listening to people talking about when someone will build a commercially viable cellulosic ethanol production plant one company has actually gone ahead and done it. That’s what KL Process Design Group claims. I met with their leadership team at the Cellulosic Ethanol Summit. Pictured are (L-R) Dave Litzen, Tom Slunecka, Randy Kramer and Steve Healey. I sat …

A Sorghum Producer Perspective
One of the people I met with here at the Cellulosic Ethanol Summit is Tim Lust, CEO of the National Sorghum Producers. Tim provided me with a historical perspective on how sorghum has been involved in ethanol production. For example, he says that the first ethanol plant to use sorghum in the production of ethanol was in New Mexico 20 …
Cellulosic Ethanol Summit Day Two
The Cellulosic Ethanol Summit is wrapping up this morning in Washington, DC. I haven’t been able to post much from it due to a complete lack of internet access in the venue (Almas Temple Club). So I’m playing a little catch up. The program has been pretty much back to back panels and speakers on a variety of topics related …
Agriculture’s Role in Cellulosic Ethanol Production
The Cellulosic Ethanol Summit is underway in Washington, DC. It’s an interesting mix of people who want to learn more about how we’re going to build this new segment of the fuel ethanol industry. On hand at lunch time was our Acting Secretary of Agriculture Chuck Conner. He addressed the group on the subject of what agriculture’s role is in …
Biofuel Capital of Missouri
While I was on my way to do some field work this weekend I passed this sign driving into Audrain County, MO. Since all you’re going to see is fields of corn and soybeans (mostly now harvested) it’s easy to see why they can make this claim. The county is also the home to a multiple biofuels production facilities.
