Ethanol Production Effects on Poultry
One of the first people I ran into here at the International Poultry Expo was Dr. Paul Aho who is a poultry economist. His company is called Poultry Perspective. Dr. Aho is being interviewed here by farm podcaster, Ned Arthur, PoultryCast. Dr. Aho says that the increase in the cost of corn has had a significant impact on the meat …
Promoting Alt Fuel in Atlanta
It seems like everywhere I go I find 25X’25. No one was home here in this booth at the combined International Poultry Expo and International Feed Expo going on in Atlanta, GA but I got a picture anyway. I’m here for reasons other than renewable fuel but you can’t escape it. For poultry producers what’s happening in the renewable fuels …
Biofuels on Display at Green Week in Germany
Hello from International Green Week in Berlin, Germany. I’m here to attend the board meeting of the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ). I know I haven’t been posting much lately but that’s because of the excellent job Cindy is doing and now John Davis. I hope you’ll agree. I will be posting quite a bit though in coming weeks from events like the National Biodiesel Conference and the National Ethanol Conference.
Talking Biofuels in Kansas City
Cindy and I are attending the National Association of Farm Broadcasters Convention in Kansas City this week. It follows the National Agri-Marketing Association’s Agribusiness Forum. I’m sure we’ll have several posts for you over the next few days that will include interviews with some people we hope you’ll find interesting. For example, at yesterday’s Forum session one of the presenters …
HyVee Gas Pump in Iowa
Hello from Iowa. I’m not up here for anything related to renewable fuels but when you’re a blogger you see things of interest everywhere. I gassed up at a HyVee gas station and their higher octane gas containing ethanol was a lower price than regular. All the pumps have ethanol labels that promote the fuel additives benefits for cleaner air.
Plant Manager Interview
The General Manager of Missouri Ethanol is Robin Venn. He’s currently in the process of getting his house sold in Kansas City so he can move to the Laddonia area. I interviewed Robin after the grand opening festivities were winding down. He says that all the employees of the ethanol plant are from Missouri which he thinks is unusual but …
Missouri Ethanol Ribbon Cutting
The grand opening event for Missouri Ethanol is just finishing up with public tours. I don’t think they could have asked for better weather. I heard the attendence pegged at 585 but I think it was more than that. It was a big crowd on hand. The stage was filled with dignitaries who all got up together for the ribbon …
Prices Coming Down
I was very pleasantly surprised to see the price of gas in Columbia, MO yesterday.
The Crackpot From Caracas
We really try to stay away from politics here on Domestic Fuel but sometimes you just have to say something. Actually this picture which I found on GOP and the City kind of says it all for me.
