Assistant Secretary of Energy Audrey Robertson, head of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation, visited the Green Plains Renewable Energy facility in York, Nebraska on Wednesday.

Robertson toured the facility and announced the new Emissions Value Request (EVR) process for the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Tax Credit.

“Through the Department of Energy’s new 45Z Emissions Value Request process, we are expanding opportunities for American fuel producers to access critical tax incentives, supporting rural economies, and bringing more American-made fuels to market. In short: putting American energy first,” said Robertson.

Green Plains is one of the nation’s leading low-carbon biofuels producers, creating value from renewable crops through the production of low-carbon biofuels and value-added products.
