Ives, who was diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig’s disease last year, accepted the award with his wife and daughter by his side and many friends who shared his impact on their lives and the industry. Many sported t-shirts for Team Rock n Roll Randy sold at the conference for donations to the Mid-America Chapter of ALS.
“Having worked for and with Randy for 10 years, I’ve been able to see firsthand the passion he has for the industry and the commitment he has to developing export markets for our products,” said USGC president and CEO Ryan LeGrand. “I consider him to be my mentor and am very lucky to have had someone like Randy to guide me throughout the better part of my career.”
Ives was humbled to be honored with the award. “I’ve been so blessed in my career of 35 years, I’m overwhelmed,” said Ives.
